Dr. Reena Thomas, MD

Dr. Reena Thomas is an dual American board-certified endocrinologist (both in endocrinology and internal medicine) and is the founder of Patuxent Endocrinology Associates. Dr. Thomas is passionate about providing patients the opportunity to achieve optimal endocrine health.

In 2015, she founded her clinical practice Patuxent Endocrinology Associates, in Prince Frederick, Maryland where she has been able to use her clinical and academic expertise in helping patients with different endocrine disorders, navigate their health journeys.

In her spare time she loves spending time with her dog Brownie, traveling, reading and enjoys cooking.

Dr. Thomas has expertise in doing thyroid nodule biopsies and managing thyroid cancer. She has Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU) professional certification in the field of neck ultrasonography required for physicians who perform consultations and diagnostic evaluations for thyroid and parathyroid disorders through both diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (UGFNA).

Research:

She was involved in multiple clinical trials in Type 1 diabetes mellitus and hypoglycemic unawareness at one of the leading academic and clinical centers of excellent in diabetes mellitus – Newcastle-upon-Tyne, United Kingdom.
